Berlinki sausages make Pulp Fiction go with the wind
Berlinki is a Polish brand of quality sausages produced by a company called Animex – they are available in several variants: classic, turkey, with cheese, with pepper and kebab. Berlinki’s advertising tagline is: There are sausages and there are Berlinki. In 2010 Animex launched a new type of packages – two sausages (100g) packaged as Berlinki Duo, perfect for a single bite.
The launch campaign showcased two Berlinki sausages impersonating the famouse movie duets. The first TV spot that became very popular presented two Berlinki sausages resembling John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson‘s characters from the cult movie Pulp Fiction (1994, dir. Quentin Tarantino) and having a funny conversation about hot dog being “le hot dog” in Paris…
Berlinki’s website features another legendary film duet – Clark Gable (Rhett Butler) and Vivien Leigh (Scarlett O’Hara) in the tear-jerking final scene from Gone with the Wind (1939, dir. Victor Fleming). Here sausage Scarlett warns sausage Rhett that if he leaves her, they will eat him. Rhett replies: Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn!
